Chrysler 300C Performance Modifications

To view the different methods of getting all the performance possible out of your Chrysler 300, either choose a section from the links below, or scroll down to the section you are interested in. We're only going to touch on some of the basic modifications, not more advanced mods and internal engine mods.

Exhaust and Intake

As far as exhaust, the preferred brands among 300C owners seem to be Corsa and Borla. Both are rather expensive (Expect to pay upwards of $800-1000 for a full cat back system), but are high quality and sound great. You can expect gains of 5-10, possibly 15 horsepower from a cat back exhaust system.

For Cold Air Intakes, there seems to be two respected models, which would be the AFE Stage II and the Air Hammer. Both will give you gains of possibly 10-15 horsepower, and increase the breathing sound of your car. Expect to spend about $300.

Tuners and Programmers

Programmers have replaced the 'chips' of the old days, as they allow much more control, and instant changes. You also get a handy diagnostic code reader built in. Expect to spend around $400 for a good programmer. The preferred programmers for the 300C are:

  • DiabloSport Predator
  • SuperChips Flashpaq

Both have roughly the same options and will give roughly the same horsepower, 20-30rwhp and tq. But the real advantage from a tuner comes from the fact that they firm up your shift points and make other small adjustments. They'll even give you a couple extra MPG!

Forced Induction

Nitrous Oxide (which is not truly forced induction) and superchargers are your two big power makers. ProCharger is a respectable brand of supercharger for the 300C, and you can expect gains of around 150 horsepower with the right amount of boost on a C. As far as Nitrous Oxide goes, most 8 cylinder engines can handle a 100-125hp shot of nitrous. Keep in mind that if you're running a supercharger, it would be a good idea to upgrade to forged internals so that you don't damage your engine. You'll also have to upgrade your fuel pump for either nitrous oxide or a supercharger. Another precautionary method that people recommend for nitrous oxide is that you go with colder spark plugs.

A decent supercharger setup can cost $5,000-8,000, and nitrous oxide can be had for under $1,000.
